If you have never been to Walt Disney World before, you might be wondering what equipment that you need to take with you. You might even make the mistake of turning up with no equipment and then you will miss the chance to make the most of your vacation.
You will want to do some research before you leave because Disney have made some changes to the park experience and you need some technological devices to make the most of them.
The changes that they have made are designed to make your life easier, so you are not standing in queues for the majority of the time that you are there. If you don't take advantage of the changes that they have made, then you will regret it when you are staring at the queue time for Toy Story Mania and it is 3 hours long. Therefore, you should read ahead to make sure that you are prepared to have the best vacation of your life.
Cell Phones
A lot of people will want to leave their cell phones at home when they are in Disney World, but that is a mistake. If you don't want to receive phone calls from work or you just don't want to be disturbed than you should turn cellular data off.
Once cellular data is turned off, you won't be able to receive calls, but you will be able to use the Wi-Fi. Disney has free Wi-Fi all over their parks and hotels and they have done this because they want people to upload to Facebook and tag themselves in their parks.
They have also done this because they have a new App, which works in conjunction with their MagicBands. The MagicBands are how you will get your fast passes to skip the queues and the App is how you will change them if you are running late. You can also make dinner reservations, see where the photo opportunities are in each park, and see what the queue time is for every ride. So, you are able to plan ahead better and make better use of your time, just because you have your cell phone with you.
Camera
You will definitely want to take a camera with you, especially if you are taking kids with you. This is because you will want to capture their every move. You will also want to have your picture taken at the best picture spots around the parks.
There will be a Disney Photographer at these spots but you will have to pay to have the images printed out off their website or at the various photo booths at the front of each park. Therefore, you will want your own camera.
The Disney photographer will take a picture for you with you camera as long as you let them take one with theirs as well. Then, you won't have to buy the Disney picture, but you have the option there if your picture doesn't come out so well or your camera gets damaged later.
Now, it is recommended that you take a camera bag with you. This is because you will be going on rides with your camera and the weather in Florida can be a bit unpredictable. You may get wet, either on the rides or from the rain. Therefore, you will want to make sure that your camera is in a good bag and it is waterproof, especially, if you are using a DSLR camera, which costs a lot of money
